Buhi, Camarines Sur

Buhi is located in the southwestern tip of the province of Camarines Sur. It is located south of Naga City, roughly about 50 plus kilometers away from Naga City. The town is bounded by Mt. Asog and Mt. Malinao. Buhi can be reached both through private and public transportation.

Buhi is famous for Sinarapan and Tabios, the smallest commercial fish in the world. Buhi is also known for Buhi Lake and Itbog Falls, the twin falls of Buhi located in Barangay Sta. Cruz.

How to get to Buhi.

By Plane:

Cebu Pacific, Air Philippines and Zest Airways have several daily flights to Naga Airport. From Naga Airport, located in the town of Pili, you can ride a bus bound to Iriga City. After arriving at Iriga City Terminal, ride a jeepney bound to Buhi. In Buhi, go to the public market near the lake and look for boats bound to Itbog Falls or Barangay Sta. Cruz. Fare is 20 pesos per person but you can also rent the boat for 200 to 300 pesos if you don't want the boat to wait for other passengers. From the boat docking area in Brgy. Sta. Cruz, you still need to trek about 2 to 3km or 1hr trek to reach Itbog Falls.

By Bus:

From Manila, there are several buses bound to Bicol region. Ride a bus going to Iriga City, Camarines Sur. Or you can also ride a bus going directly to Buhi. DLTBCo, Raymond Bus and Philtranco Bus has regularly trips going to Buhi. From Iriga City, ride a jeepney bound to Buhi and then at the Buhi public market, you can ride or rent a boat going to Itbog Falls or Brgy. Sta. Cruz. from the boat docking area in Brgy. Sta. Cruz, you still need to trek about 2 to 3km or 1hr trek to reach Itbog Falls.

If you want to hire a guide, you can just ask the boatmen to guide you to Itbog falls or you can just ask around in the public market for a guide. You can just negotiate for the price since there is no specific price for a guide fee. Also be informed that there are no facilities near Itbog falls. There are no facilities to change clothes or a shower room, bathroom, or comfort room and there are no stores near the falls. You must buy and bring your own food before going to the waterfalls or before riding the boat bound to Itbog falls.
